The Dogs of San Jose del Cabo, Mexico

One of the first things that struck me on my first visit to Mexico was just how many dogs there are. In San Jose del Cabo, at the tip of Baja California Sud, and nearby La Playita, they were everywhere: barking from rooftops, running through the streets in gangs, sleeping in the sun. Some are well-loved and cared for; others, not so much. Some are sweet, and others forced me to walk a few blocks out of my way.

During the two weeks I spent in San Jose del Cabo in January, I spent a lot of time photographing dogs. Here are some of my favourite shots.

If you’re interested in helping stray dogs in Los Cabos, check out Baja SAFE, a charity that facilitates international adoptions.
