In 2003, I was just a simple 20-year-old library clerk with blue hair and a leather jacket when an editor took a chance and gave me a weekly music column in daily newspaper the Edmonton Sun.
Today, I’m a full-time freelance writer and editor.
Over my thirteen years as a writer I’ve honed my abilities and become an expert at putting together feature stories, penning reviews, and conducting interviews. My career has afforded me some memorable moments, including a long telephone chat with Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits (a childhood favourite) and having a girly sleepover in one of Canada’s most haunted places – a death-row jail cell.
My areas of expertise have expanded, and nowadays I specialize in travel, lifestyle, and business writing. I work based from my home in Vancouver, and am available to travel worldwide.
I completed an editorial internship with Venture Publishing in 2011, working on business magazine Alberta Venture and the company’s large portfolio of contract magazines. Since then I’ve primarily worked as a freelance editor, completing over 4,500 projects for a client base that stretches across the globe.
I’ve produced content and copy for a wide variety of clients, including:
My articles have been published by dozens of media outlets, including:
After completing an editorial internship with business magazine Alberta Venture in 2011, I went on to freelance as a well-rounded editor specializing in copy editing and proofreading. Today, I’m a top-rated editor on Fiverr, with 99.5 percent positive feedback and nearly 5,000 orders delivered since 2013. My editing service even earned me a mention in Time magazine.
I’m highly experienced in all kinds of editing work, and have completed projects ranging from rewording website content for international companies into native-level English, to editing novels from start to finish, to polishing blog posts and business content. I love working with new clients, so please get in touch with me to discuss your project.
